Continue to pray for my brother Rick. This is an update on him. He is being admitted to the hospital with covid pneumonia and blood clots on my lungs. Oxygen has been bouncing up and down got out of the shower and it dropped to 72 on my pulse ox. Feeling pretty rough. ... See MoreSee Less

Dear partner,
Today we welcomed 1100 + students to Indianapolis for the next several days (today through Jan 1). They will hear from some speakers guiding them through the Word and what it looks like to live out their faith in everyday life in this world. In addition, we will be partnering with some churches to engage in different neighborhoods and prisons in Indy with the message of Jesus. Amy and I would love for you to pray for a few things. Your partnership in prayer means so much to us. Knowing that we have people like you interceding in prayer is such a blessing.

Would you please be praying for:
• Pray that the LORD would meet students where they are as they leave home for several days to come to Indy Winter Conference. These are the moments we have seen the LORD work in calling students to Himself. Pray students and staff would be open to what He would say to them at the start of this next year.
• Pray that students would fall deeply in love with Jesus, be equipped to bring the message of Jesus to their campus, their city, and the world.
• Nathan, our youngest, is here with us for his first Winter Conference. Please pray the Lord would work in his life.
• Pray that God protects the health of students and faculty who attend Indy, as well as their families.
Thank you very much,

Adam L Burkey

Burkey Christmas Letter
Dear Alexandria Baptist Church Family:

We pray that this letter finds you all well and enjoying this Advent season. We love this time of remembering how God’s people had been waiting in silence for 400 years for the Messiah. We are sure that caused them to doubt, to question, to lose faith in the one who was to save them. Then when He came, He was not like what they had envisioned but the people were still drawn to Him, amazed by Him and through Him lives were changed. The one who came to earth over 2000 years ago is the one who resides in us today. The light has come and is within us! Emmanuel, God with us. What good and glorious news. May we never tire of it or of sharing it with others. This world needs the hope, the joy, the love and the peace that can only be found in Jesus.

Thank you all so much for partnering with us to take this Good News to college students across the United States. Your gift of $1,645.52 was such a blessing to receive recently. Thank you so much for being a part of God’s provision for our needs. He is the God who sees, who provides and who saves. All glory be to Him!

Adopt-a-Family 2021
The Adopt-a-Family organizers, Faith Mission, wish to thank you for your gracious generosity in sponsoring two families and six children. This year our church congregation’s Adopt-a-Family tree was decorated with 6 gift tags for each child, Kroger’s food gift cards, Wendy’s food gift cards for the entire family and cash donation envelopes. Many child gift tags asking for a single item came back with multiple gift items giving that child a marvelous Christmas. A bible was also given to each family.

Last year 60 plus families asked for assistance during the Christmas holidays. This year the total was down to 40 or so. It is nice to know that the financial situation for many families improved from last year. Last year was a hard one for all of us. But with our Lord walking with us there is nothing that we can’t overcome.

Families Helping Families Christmas Giving

The Adopt-a-Family/Child tree is now up in the Church sanctuary. The tree is loaded with tags for kid’s gifts, tags for gift cards and tags for Kroger food gift cards.
We are sponsoring two families with a total of 6 children.
There are also cash envelopes. Feel free to take an envelope or a tag or two.
Gifts need to be purchased new and brought in unwrapped, but please include a gift bag or wrapping paper so the parents can wrap the gifts themselves
Place the gifts on or under the tree at the Church. The Church will deliver the gifts to the organizers. The Adopt-a-Family/Child organizers wish to have gifts to the kids & family turned in by 6pm on Tuesday, December 7th so they can process everything. However, stores have warned of short supplies & longer lead times. So if you miss their target date, contact Pastor Brian (614-266-5415) or Howard Bumgarner (740-817-2070 or 740-817-2071) and let them know more gifts are coming & they will get them delivered. Thank all of you for your loving support.
